The All—Russian Society for Nature Protection (VOOP) is one of the oldest active environmental associations in the world and the first all-Russian environmental society. In 2024, the society will celebrate the 100th anniversary of its creation. During its almost century-long history, thousands of square kilometers of reservoirs and watercourses have been cleared, millions of hectares of forest have been planted, dozens of endangered species of plants and animals have been preserved.

Today, the offices of the VOOP operate in most of the subjects of Russia. Everyone can become an assistant or volunteer of a VOOP in their region. During the period of climate change, degradation of natural complexes and ecosystems, the mission of the VOOP is to consolidate and coordinate the efforts of nature defenders, the state and business to preserve Russia's natural complexes, environmental education and sustainable development in harmony with nature.

The VOOP promotes the implementation of the national project "Ecology", national development goals, state, corporate and private environmental programs and projects, actively forms the environmental agenda and implements nature protection measures.
