In the city of Mariinsk, employees of the South Siberian Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor presented a special jury prize of the International Children's and Youth Award "Ecology is everyone's business!".

The winner of the special prize was 6-year-old Ekaterina Vashchenko, a pupil of kindergarten No. 205 of JSC "Russian Railways".

The young eco-activist presented to the jury a research project called "From acorn to oak", in which, in poetic form, she told how she managed to grow a real tree from a small acorn.

The staff of Rosprirodnadzor presented the girl with a well-deserved award, wished her further success in her scientific work, and also expressed the hope that, as an adult, Ekaterina will continue to take care of the ecology and natural resources of her native land.
