On December 13, Tamara Shevchenko, Acting Deputy Head of the North Caucasus Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor, solemnly presented a special jury prize of the International Children's and Youth Award "Ecology is everyone's business!" to 9-year-old Temryuk Kanukoev from Nalchik.

To participate in the Award, Temryuk sent several works, in one of which the boy told about the eco–habits of his family, which they have been practicing in their daily lives for a long time, and in another about how he took part in cleaning on Elbrus. "I was ashamed and very offended that I had to hold an All-Russian subbotnik on the highest peak of Europe. But if I have to climb higher, I will not give up for anything," Temryuk stressed.

This means that the problem of environmental conservation concerns not only us adults, but also the younger generation, who are not ready to stand aside and be observers. These are active, thinking children who are ready to offer ideas and work through them to solve specific environmental problems around the world.

The awarding ceremony was also attended by employees of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, Director of the branch of the FSBI "TSLATI for the Southern Federal District" - TSLATI for the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic Daniyal Geriev and Leylya Toguzaeva - Head of the Education Department of the Kabardino-Balkarian Highland State Nature Reserve.

Recall that the award was established by Rosprirodnadzor in the spring of 2021. This year, the total number of works from Russia and other countries of the world amounted to more than 45 thousand. About 700 works were selected for the final of the award, which were included in the shortlist for the jury of the children's and youth award "Ecology is everyone's business!", among them were the works of Temryuk Kanukoev.
