Concerned residents of the region took part in an action to clean up the coastal zone of the Don River.

The event was initiated by Rosprirodnadzor for the Rostov Region and the Republic of Kalmykia together with the Ecology Foundation and FSBI TSLATI for the Southern Federal District.

About 30 participants of the action collected and removed more than a ton of garbage, installed information stands with calls to keep clean, took water samples from the Don River. In addition, benches and urns made of recycled materials were installed in the Levoberezhny Park in Rostov-on-Don, and volunteers and eco-activists put the beach in order on the territory of Zeleny Island.

All this is done in order to draw attention to environmental issues and popularize a responsible attitude to the environment and to keep recreational areas clean.

Anyone can join the movement of eco-like-minded people. It is in the power of each person to maintain order on the territory of his city or district, to take care of water protection zones.
