On December 20, 2021, a solemn ceremony was held in Nizhny Novgorod to award the winners and laureates of the International Children's and Youth Award "Ecology is Everyone's Business", which was established by the Federal Service for Supervision of Nature Management in the spring of this year. The contest was supported by well-known Russian politicians, scientists, actors and TV presenters, the chairman of the competition commission was Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Victoria Abramchenko.

The participants of the Award were schoolchildren from all regions of Russia and 27 countries of the world, more than 9.5 thousand works were sent. According to the results of the competitive selection, about 200 finalists are presented for awards. Among the best works of young ecologists of the Nizhny Novgorod region were noted, six schoolchildren from Sarov and Voronino village of Gorodetsky district became laureates.

«The award showed that ecology is really everyone's business," said Mark Chinenkov, Acting head of the Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor for the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Republic of Mordovia. - The number of participants and the geography of the competition is impressive. And we are especially pleased that our region is more than adequately represented there. In the three categories "Eco-family", "Eco-action" and "Eco-project" we are honoring our winners today."

The guys took the preparation of applications for the competition really seriously. But the prizes that they eventually received are also solid. Egor Vankov, who became the winner of the 2nd degree with the project "My eco-family" will return to his native Sarov with a brand new iPhone. In addition, just yesterday, he and his compatriot Dasha Chumakova flew in from Orlyonka, where a special environmental shift was taking place. The guys also received vouchers to the famous camp as a prize for the victory. Dasha submitted to the competition a project of an ecological route along Lake Tikun in the Sokolsky district of the region.

A team of girls from Gorodetsky district (Makarova Varvara and Maria, Latukhina Vasilisa and Yakovleva Irina) conquered the jury with their environmental action. They have the 3rd place in the nomination and iPads as a gift to each.

In addition, letters of thanks and memorable gifts were presented to mentors and parents of schoolchildren who support the ideas and initiatives of the children in everything.

After the official part, the participants of the award ceremony continued to communicate in a more informal atmosphere, over a cup of tea. We discussed the contest entries, shared our impressions and plans for the future.
