To mark the anniversary of the Rosprirodnadzor Award "Ecology is everyone's business", a postcard was cancelled
A solemn ceremony of canceling the art postcard of the International Children's and Youth Prize "Ecology is everyone's business" took place in Moscow. According to the head of Rosprirodnadzor Svetlana Radionova, the postcard, issued by the Russian Post with a circulation of one thousand copies, is timed to coincide with the 5th anniversary of the Rosprirodnadzor Award and the end of the VI season. The card is designed to emphasize the importance of each person's personal contribution to the preservation of the environment. The award's logo is depicted on its front side – polar bears, which over the years of the project's existence have become a real symbol of the environmental movement among children and youth in more than 100 countries around the world.
The solemn cancellation of the art card is timed to coincide with the 5th anniversary of the International Rosprirodnadzor Award "Ecology is everyone's business" and the VI season that ended recently. Over these six seasons, the project has written its name into the history of caring about the planet, bringing together more than 100 countries and hundreds of thousands of participants. The cancellation of the issued postal products was carried out with a specially made artistic stamp. The cancelled card acquires philatelic and museum value and focuses on the interaction of society in the formation of ecological culture in Russia. The ceremony was attended by Svetlana Radionova, head of Rosprirodnadzor, Alan Kozonov, Acting General Director of Russian Post JSC, Yulianna Karaulova, a popular Russian singer and TV presenter, a member of the Ecology is Everyone's Business award jury, as well as employees of the central office of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources and representatives of environmental, cultural and educational organizations.
"In five years, the Ecology is Everyone's Business Award has united hundreds of thousands of people who are not indifferent to the protection of nature. The postcard has become a symbol of our shared concern for the world around us. Such a cute card with a serious message for humanity will be scattered to the most remote corners of the country. And everyone who receives such a postcard will receive a piece of our shared responsibility for nature. Thank you to the Russian Post for this opportunity and for supporting initiatives to respect nature," Svetlana Radionova said.
The head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources Management emphasized that an art card is not just a souvenir, but a tool for promoting environmental initiatives. It reflects the idea of each citizen's personal responsibility for nature conservation. Handing over a postcard can be the first step to get acquainted with the Rosprirodnadzor project. The participants of the Ecology is Everyone's Business award can send it to their friends and share their achievements – write down how many kilograms of waste paper or plastic caps they have donated this year and encourage others to join the eco–initiatives in the new season. Postcards can be used for greetings, good wishes or thanks. Everyone will be able to purchase a card at Russian Post offices, turning every mail greeting sent into a reminder of the importance of environmental choice.
"This ceremony is a special event for the Russian Post, because we share the values of the Ecology is Everyone's Business award. We are pleased that we can contribute to the promotion of the ideas of sustainable development and environmental education together with Rosprirodnadzor. An artistic postcard will remind you that caring for the environment begins with small things – with daily actions. I think this copy will become a witness to the history of the development of the environmental movement in Russia," said Alan Kozonov, Acting General Director of Russian Post JSC.
Yulianna Karaulova, a well–known Russian singer and a member of the jury of the Ecology is Everyone's Business award, noted that it was a great honor for her to participate in the ceremony and promote ecological culture in Russia.
"It is very pleasant to witness how a small card has turned into a big symbol. Let her travel around the country and the world, inspire and remind that ecology is really everyone's business," said Yulianna Karaulova.
